Who Are You?
About the Editor/ Style Director

Stacey Appel had wanted to work in fashion ever since she was a wee lass and saw a TV profile of Madonna's bridal dress designer circa 1985. Saturday mornings were spent drawing cartoons and clothes, watching "The Smurfs" and then switching the channel to CNN for "Style With Elsa Klensch" (she credits Elsa with teaching her the correct pronunciation of "Gianfranco Ferré"). After graduating from university with a degree in fashion design, she ultimately spent most of her time backstage in London and New York City, bouncing back & forth between Fashion Week and theatrical costuming gigs.

The Dedicated Follower of Fashion was launched in 1997, then as just a single Geocities site, an anti-Blackwell list of the best-dressed boys of the rock & pop worlds. Over the years it snowballed into a magazine and eventually aided her in fulfilling a quasi-wannabe-jetsetter life (mostly in her own head), covering events from Fashion Weeks in New York and London (this time from the seats) to music festivals Coachella, Siren and CMJ.

Stacey also puts in happy-time as a freelance stylist, illustrator and fashion writer whose work and has appeared in Boho magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Knit Scene magazine, Venus Zine, and around the web on NEET magazine, Fashionwindows, Trendcentral, ShopGossipGirl, Mad Men Style, and Univsion. She currently writes a regular fashion column on Examiner.com and is working on her first book to be published in 2011.
