| Another reason the Brits have gone crazy over them is that Their Royal Hotness are also worthy pin-up boys. Steve is regularly decked out in supremely tight jeans and perfectly tossled high-lighted hair. However, lyrics like "Fashion is feeding us identification" ("Le Le Low") may have one thinking the band has an anti-fashion stance. Not true. "Fashion is just another way to be creative. I think everyone should be more creative, whether it's with fashion, music, architecture, interior design, etc. Creativity is just fun so why not be more creative with everything?". | |

A sense of "fun" seems to be an important element in everything Hot Hot Heat does (even on the tour bus,
Steve says his favorite pastime is "just laughing and talking").
It's also most
likely the reason why their fans are so devoted. HHH are one of the few bands whose show
is so enjoyable that the crowd goes absolutely ape-shit from beginning to end, dancing
into a frenzy of joy and emerging from the show almost as sweat-drenched as the band
themselves. "Yeah, it totally affects us at shows," Steve says
enthusiastically when referring to fan reaction. "It's
incredible to know that people enjoy something we'd be doing anyway".
As a result, the folks who are into HHH don't just like them, they LOVE them. In other words, there are no casual fans, they're all pretty passionate. "I think it's good when art triggers extreme reactions. I'm willing to have some people really hate us if it means some people actually love the music." Word.
